Planners looking into the development of a 79,654 sq ft warehouse facility for a dot.com company on a site in the Ullswater Industrial Estate in Coulsdon, Croydon have requested further information, which the local press is trumpeting as evidence that Waitrose has selected Croydon as its new South London dot.com hub location.
Earlier this year Waitrose was thought to have shortlisted two other site in Crawley and Erith. Waitrose was unavailable for comment. It is thought the depot could provide up to 500 jobs.
