Insulation manufacturer Saint-Gobain Isover has extended its contract with Bibby Distribution for a further three years.
The distribution and warehousing deal sees the introduction of three 15.65m extended length trailers, alongside 20 aerodynamic high-volume teardrop trailers and 16 Euro 5 trucks.
Route optimisation and delivery scheduling software has also been implemented for further operational efficiencies.
David Lydon, supply chain manager of Saint-Gobain Isover said: “Since assuming responsibility for our operation following the purchase of TM Logistics back in October 2010, Bibby has become an integral part of Isover’s business, working hard to align with our key strategic drivers which encompass safety, customer service and environmental sustainability.
“The tender process was fiercely competitive, but with sound innovation and a real determination to add value, I am confident that we have a robust yet challenging strategy for the future.”

Bibby will continue managing the contract from SGI’s sites in Runcorn and Gotham, Nottinghamshire where Bibby employees are currently based.
Bibby divisional director Mark Wilson said: “The key objectives going forward are to increase load-fill on shunting operations to improve mpg, and bring improved planning efficiency into every route travelled.
“This is the ideal platform to show what extended length and teardrop trailers can really do in practice. Together with SGI we have set ambitious environmental targets, and by improving mpg alone we are expecting to see a carbon reduction of at least 65 tonnes per annum.”
