Inapal Plasticos, the Portugal based supplier of spoilers and boot lids, has awarded a contract for the UK linefeed preparation services to Yusen Logistics.
Yusen will provide a sub-assembly and sequence picking service, with delivery into the Jaguar plant at Castle Bromwich on a just-in-time basis.
Inapal’s boot lids and spoilers are destined for the new Jaguar Convertible F Type and are supplied on special bespoke stillages. In addition to the sub assembly operation, the Yusen service also includes quality assurance activities.

IT visibility was an important feature for Inapal, with the Yusen system providing stock traceability and alert messaging in real time for the sequence picking and despatch operation.
The operation is based at Yusen Logistics’ Tamworth automotive centre, which is adjacent to the M42.
The 81,000 sq ft site was developed in response to demand from first and second tier suppliers for decanting, cross-docking, stockholding and sequencing operations in readiness for line-feed into the assembly process on a just-in-time basis.
It is supported by Yusen Logistics forwarding control tower operations, with volumes arriving by air, sea and road.
