Sales rose nine per cent at ARR Craib Transport to almost £39 million last year, despite the transport sector experiencing one of its toughest trading periods.
The Aberdeen-based operator said pre-tax profit was up from £873,000 to £1.36m.
Managing director Eddie Anderson said: “The transport market over the past year has continued to be difficult and UK markets have been stagnant with few customers experiencing any growth. It is, therefore, extremely pleasing to have recorded such promising results in the face of such tough trading conditions and congratulations must go to everyone in the team at ARR Craib for their hard work in delivering these results.”
Results were boosted by sustained buoyancy of the oil service sector in the North-east of Scotland. In addition, the investment made three years ago to join Palletline was now paying dividends, and continued development of the bases in Cumbernauld and Eaglescliffe had further strengthened the trading position.
