Pall-Ex has opened a northern hub at a site near the M6 in Carlisle.
The hub, which is operated by network member RJ Murray & Son, was opened by the Mayor of Carlisle, Councillor David Wilson.
[asset_ref id=”1862″]The 40,000 sq ft hub is based on a 30-acre site close to the M6. Adrian Russell, managing director of Pall-Ex, said: “The Pall-Ex northern hub is a very exciting development for our business and customers. It’s already providing us with a very cost effective solution for moving freight throughout northern England, Scotland and, in time, to Ireland.”
As well as providing hauliers with truck stop facilities, the hub offers a range of logistics services including pick and pack, storage and warehousing.
The Northern Hub is part of Pall-Ex’s European growth plan. This has focused on the launch of individual networks in key countries. With freight networks already established in Italy, Iberia and Romania, Further Pall-Ex networks in France and Pall-Ex Polska will launch early next year.
