Roadways Container Logistics, is to roll out Fargo Systems ‘TOPS. on the go’ android smart phone system across its fleet of over 300 vehicles.
The first 50 ‘TOPS. on the go’ systems being deployed by the end of 2012 with the remainder being rolled out across Roadways seven UK depots, with installation being completed first quarter 2013.
The system provides visibility and real time information, tracking vehicle and container movements from port or railhead to the final delivery / collection location. Automatic alerts will be sent to transport planners if delays are encountered.
In addition ‘TOPS. on the go’ will replace the traditional driver timesheet, recording drivers hours, expenses and fuel drawn.
Roadway has used Fargo’s TOPS transport and container management software system since 2010.
