Sogefi, which supplies parts to the motor industry, has awarded a contract to Geodis Calberson to manage warehousing and distribution in the UK and Ireland.
The contract will be managed from Geodis Calberson’s site at Magna Park. Italian company Sogefi has two plants in Wales producing air, fuel, oil and cabin filters. Product arrives from the Welsh plant and from central stock in Europe.
Geodis Calberson manages stock-holding and same day order picking and dispatch. Orders are delivered next day delivery to factors across the UK, with Geodis’ Fortec subsidiary and a parcel carrier sharing the workload.
Andrea Taschini, general manager of Sogefi Aftermarket Division said: “The decision to restructure our distribution service gives us a much better service level overall in the UK and Ireland. We are also confident that Geodis will ensure Sogefi achieves a robust and efficient next day service for all our distributor customers – including later order cut-off times.”
Geodis Calberson has introduced a new warehouse management system at Magna Park which tracks goods and orders from the moment they arrive with an upgraded radio frequency tagging process.
