Norbert Dentressangle has reported a ten per cent rise in sales for the first nine months of the year to €2.9bn.
The Logistics division reported sales for the first nine months of €1.3bn, up 13.7 per cent. The group said the 2.1 per cent like for like revenue increase reflected both the buoyant market in UK and increased sales in Italy, Romania, Switzerland and Poland.
The Transport division posted sales of €1.5bn, up 5.1 per cent over 2011. The trend in third quarter revenues, similar to the second quarter trend, demonstrated resilience in a more volatile and lower volume (down 2 per cent) market, particularly in Spain, Dentressangle said.
Freight forwarding sales were up from €55m to €102 million.
CEO François Bertreau said: “In a sharply deteriorating economy in the third quarter, especially in France, Norbert Dentressangle held up well buoyed by strong new business wins and tight cost management, and we maintain our plan for growth.”
The group is continuing to expand. A heads of agreement was signed to purchase the freight forwarding and ambient and controlled temperature logistics businesses from Belgian-based Nova Natie. And it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Brazilian-based Gafor for setting up a joint logistics business in Brazil.
