RedPrairie is to buy JDA Software in a deal worth $1.9 billion, saying it would create an organisation able to offer a broad portfolio of solutions and services to manage global supply chains.
JDA’s products focus on supply chain planning, merchandising and pricing.
RedPrairie’s products are in warehousing, workforce management, store operations and e-commerce.
Hamish Brewer, currently chief executive of JDA will head the new group.
RedPrairie’s chief executive, Michael Mayoras will remain on the board of the combined company as will Martin Hiscox who heads RedPrairie in the UK.
