Office Depot has brought together its transport and distribution departments with the appointment of Simon Parker as head of logistics.
Mike McCreesh, director of procurement and supply chain, said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Simon to the team. His experience in logistics will no doubt be of valuable assistance to our business and our efforts to drive efficiency and expertise in this field.”

Parker has over 20 years’ experience in transport, logistics and large-scale distribution management. “The challenge, as for any supplier, is to remain agile to the needs of the customer and responsive to the fast-paced changes affecting the supply chain in an on-going basis,” he said.
“Our competition is evolving and our long-term strategy must be to rationalise systems and platforms to make them as effective as possible.”
