AEB has launched its “Time Slot Management” software application as part of the ASSIST4 Visibility and Collaboration Platform, which will allow integrated planning of transport activities including loading/unloading, shipping, and storage workflows.
AEB reckons that because ASSIST4 can also monitor and control the shipping, goods receipt, and warehouse processes, Time Slot Management will bear efficiencies by synchronising loading operations with further intralogistics processes.
For example if a shipment has been picked and is ready for dispatch, ASSIST4 Transport & Freight Management and Warehouse Management can work together with Time Slot Management to organise the staging areas in the goods issue area of the warehouse, and co-ordinate the loading dock time slots.
Booking and tracking time slots early helps balance the load and reduce wait times.
