Arts and crafts retailer Hobbycraft has taken Goodman’s 213,240 sq ft First Point warehouse in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Hobbycraft will lease the entire facility at Burton Logistics Centre, which is located one mile from the A38, providing convenient access to the Midlands and wider UK market.
The speculative building boasts 18 dock and two level access doors as well as a 12m eaves height. It has a 50m yard and a floor loading of 50kn/sq m. It was being marketed with a quoting rent of ÂŁ5.25 per sq ft. It is thought Hobbycraft has taken a 15 year lease.
Jason Harris, Commercial Director, Goodman UK Logistics said: “This letting is one of the largest in the market this year and reinforces the continued interest from customers, in particular UK retailers, in prime industrial and logistics property. This is highlighted by the fact that our portfolio is now almost fully let, with only one vacant facility within the portfolio.”
James Yates, Property Director, Hobbycraft said: “We are pleased to secure this new national distribution facility which will support our ambitious growth plans over the coming years.”
Hobbycraft is expected to occupy Burton Logistics Centre from November 2012
BNP Paribas, Jones Lang LaSalle and Savills are leasing agents on First Point, Burton. Hobbycraft was represented by CBRE.
