By wpengineGerman container shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has confirmed that it is holding merger talks with Hamburg Sud.
Hapag-Lloyd currently has a fleet of 150 ships and handles about five million teu a year.
Hamburg Sud operates a similar number of vessels and carried about 3.1m teu last year.
