Shepton Mallet-based Framptons Transport is set to open a £5m distribution centre that will take its total storage capacity to over 175,000 sq ft.
When operational, the 85,000 sq ft distribution centre will incorporate 14,000 racked pallet spaces, and is fitted with narrow aisle racking to ensure that space is managed to maximum benefit.
Stock movements will be monitored in real time using RF technology and a computerised warehouse management system.
Framptons, which is a member of Palletline, operates a fleet of 70 vehicles.
