Alpine Electronics, which makes sat-navs, DVD players, CD players, radios and speakers for the in-car market, has extended its contract with Geodis Calberson in a deal worth £1m over two years.
Geodis Calberson will continue to deliver stock to motor manufacturers such as Honda and Jaguar Land Rover and to retail outlets such as Halfords across the UK.
Coventry-based Alpine imports products, with consignments arriving every day from the Far East by air and by sea freight containers, and from Germany by full truck load.
Geodis Calberson takes responsibility for stockholding and deliveries are organised from its warehouse at Magna Park, Leicestershire. Most orders need to be delivered within 24 to 48 hours of the order being received.
As part of the contract Geodis Calberson carries out some timed deliveries direct to OEMs and also completes some of the customs clearance for consignments from China and Japan.
