Wincanton has highlighted a robust performance by the contract logistics business in its management statement for the quarter to 7th February
“The contract logistics business has performed robustly across all sectors in what continues to be a challenging economic climate and has secured a number of new contracts and renewals including those with global garden products and a major FMCG company,” it said.
“During the second half of the year, the Contract Logistics business will have also completed the implementation and commenced operations at three new distribution centres for retail grocery customers.”
However, it warned that within the specialist businesses, a strong performance in the Records Management division had, in part, been offset by lower volumes in the Containers division.
Overall, it said: “The board is pleased to report that Wincanton continues to trade in line with market expectations”
