Yearsley Logistics has invested in 30 Mercedes-Benz tractor units – the first to display the company’s new livery.
Supplied by Trafford Park dealer Enza, the Actros 2545 StreamSpace tractor units are replacing old vehicles but the majority of which represent extensions of the total fleet size.
Yearsley operated a demonstration unit for six months to assess the fuel efficiency and fitness-for-purpose of the Actros, and to help select the correct engine rating and cab specification.
Operations director Mark Haslam said: “If our calculations are correct, the new trucks’ combination of market-leading fuel-efficiency, outstanding reliability and strong residual values will combine to give us a highly competitive whole-life cost.”
