Ocado delivered the first orders from its new distribution centre at Dordon in Warwickshire on Sunday (24th February).
The £210m Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC2) has been built at IM Properties’ Birch Coppice Business Park.
The building has a footprint of 350,000 sq ft. Capacity is planned to rise from 120,000 orders per week when it first opens – to 180,000 orders per week. Ocado reckons it will create up to 2,000 jobs when fully operational.
The company reported a 24 per cent rise in EBITDA to £34.5m for the full year in 2012, while gross sales were up 14 per cent to £732m. On a statutory basis it produced a pre-tax loss of £600,000.
