The Road Haulage Association and the Freight Transport Association have joined forces to offer members a joint fuel card.
The card comes from The Fuelcard Company and operates on the Keyfuels network which covers one in five of all UK fuel stations and can be used at over 1,600 sites nationwide, many of which offer dedicated HGV fast flow pumps and a third have capacity for HGVs up to 44 tonnes.
FTA chief executive Theo de Pencier said: “Joining forces with RHA means that we can pool our resources and offer members excellent discounts and price reductions.”
Members will receive a weekly fixed price based on the bulk fuel market. The two organisations reckon that savings of some £50,000 a year are possible for an average weekly volume of 30,000 litres, compared to pump prices.
Users will also have access to The Fuelcard Company’s online fuel management systems which will allow them to keep track of every penny of fuel spend.
The card is free for the first year, there is no contract to sign and no cancellation fee to pay.
