GT Nexus has been chosen by Electrolux to provide a software-as-a-service technology platform that will automate its closed loop global freight spend management process.
The platform aims to optimise the entire purchase-to-pay lifecycle for all of the appliance manufacturer’s air and ocean transport and is to be delivered as a service over the internet.
“We needed better technology to support our move from normal annual and spot buying to an ongoing, strategic freight management approach,” said Bjorn Vang Jensen, vice president purchasing, global logistics at Electrolux.
“GT Nexus connects us with our transport service providers and allows everyone to see and act on a common set of shared rate information and related transactions in the cloud. This collaboration will help us maintain strong, strategic partnerships with our providers.”
