DAF Trucks has launched new LF and CF models which use the Euro 6 Paccar MX-11engine.
“The Euro 6 project is the largest investment and development programme in DAF’s 85-year history,” said DAF president Harrie Schippers.
“The new Euro 6 LF is ideal for distribution and the new Euro 6 CF is well suited for a wide range of applications, varying from regional transport to heavy construction.”
Production of the Euro 6 CF is planned to start mid-year, with the Euro 6 LF distribution truck entering production in the fourth quarter.
The new models have new chassis, drivelines and a exterior design which emphasises the family resemblance to the top of the range Euro 6 XF.
Engines range from 4.5 and 6.7 litre Paccar PX-5 and PX-7 units to 10.8 and 12.9 litre Paccar MX-11 and MX-13 engines.
All the engines incorporate a high pressure common rail fuel injection system, a turbo charger with variable geometry and technologies to maximise efficiency, including encapsulated wiring harnesses and advanced engine management systems. Exhaust after treatment systems are applied for maximum efficiency and lowest fuel consumption.
