Logistics operator Gefco UK has used Kratzer Automation’s cadis operational Transport Management System (oTMS) to establish a real-time electronic proof of delivery system.
Gefco delivers car parts to a number of automotive and 2Wheeler clients and says that by using Kratzer’s cadis oTMS, it is able to eliminate time-consuming paperwork and provide electronic proof of delivery by adding a GPS location and a time and date stamp.
The system shows a full track and trace solution for each individual carton delivered and enables customers to access all proof of delivery via the web within minutes of the delivery being completed.
Gefco drivers had previously been using a paper-based system to check the loading and unloading of goods as well as gather signatures at the point of delivery, which meant it could take up to five days to provide proof of delivery.
“Implementation of the cadis system went very smoothly, said Paul Branfield, IT manager at Gefco UK.
“Information flows are faster than when we had to rely on paper-based systems, while step-by-step workflow on the handhelds has helped us to reduce error rates.”
Gefco has already installed the cadis oTMS to its German and French operations and is now working on expanding its use to Southern European countries.
