Sales fell by one per cent at Norbert Dentressangle in the first quarter to €949m. The fall was attributed to an increase in the number of public holidays affecting sales in the Transport business. Daily business levels were stable, it said.
Sales in the Logistics business were up 3.4 per cent. Business was particularly strong in the UK, which accounted for 43 per cent of the division’s sales.
Chairman Hervé Montjotin said: “Norbert Dentressangle maintained a solid activity level in the first quarter of 2013, despite a deteriorating economic environment since the start of 2013, particularly in France. Against this backdrop, the group has maintained a sharp focus on its operational management and continues to focus on cost control in relation to business volumes handled for its clients, particularly in the Transport business.”
