The new Euro 6 range
The manufacturer used its Euro 5 engine blocs as a point of departure in developing the latest generation of engines, making the adaptations necessary to bring them into line with the Euro 6 standard.
Renault said the 11 and 13 litre engines for the new Construction and Long Distance ranges would be the least polluting and the quietest the brand had ever used in its trucks.
Rather than use cooled EGR technology, Renault has developed its own system for re-injecting hot exhaust gases into the air intake. It said this ensured good combustion and increased the efficiency of the post treatment system, which requires high temperatures to operate under optimal conditions.
