ToolsGroup’s Service Optimizer 99+ supply chain planning suite has been implemented by Costa Express, as part of its supply chain transformation, which has also included changes to its logistics and warehousing partner.
The SO99+ enables Costa to review the amount of stock it sends to its partners, helping prevent waste and theft and improve service by ensuring machines are always stocked to meet demand.
This enables Costa Express to manage the supply of ingredients from its warehouse in Andover, out to all Costa Express sites.
Supply chain manager, Chris Clowes, said: “We’ve actually managed both to grow our revenue and reduce our inventory costs, so I’m very pleased.
“In some countries that we’re entering, like Poland, we’re legally required to make month-end declarations, so this new level of forecasting accuracy is extremely helpful.”
