Drinks manufacturer and distributor Halewood International has awarded a contract to Abbey Logistics Group for the distributon of finished products.
Halewood International owns and manufactures well-known brands such as Lambrini and Crabbies in addition to distributing Tsingtao beer in the UK.
Dean Shepherd, logistics controller at Halewood, said: “Working closely with Abbey managing director Steve Granite enabled me to have an insight as to how professional Abbey operate. The efforts that Steve put in made it a very easy transition to our preferred distribution provider, I am looking forward to working closely with Abbey over the next few years.”
Abbey is investing more than £1m in ten DAF trucks and 20 SDC curtain-sider trailers which will be based at the Halewood International site in Huyton. and supported by Abbeys national fleet of 220 trucks.

Abbey operates 62 vehicles and 102 trailers in its palletised division with an overall fleet size of 235 trucks and 300 trailers operating from 11 UK bases. It has seen turnover grow from £18m in 2009 to over £30m in the current financial year.
