DAF Trucks has chosen DB Schenker as its preferred logistics service provider in Brazil.
DB Schenker will be responsible for export consolidation, supply-chain visibility and import logistics in support of DAF Brazil’s new truck assembly plant in the city of Ponta Grossa in the state of Paraná.
It will handle door-to-door air and ocean transport between DAF Brazil’s European supply-base and the Brazil assembly plant including Brazilian customs clearance and final delivery.
Tim Horton, global account manager for PACCAR (DAF’s parent company), said DB Schenker would also provide the DAF Brazil materials planners with a purchase order management solution and detailed supply-chain visibility using “Scout”, its integrated cargo management tool.
“Surely we have a quality partner in DB Schenker to support our international logistics processes and to bring our components from Europe with a focus on quality on-time service, so that we can introduce our brand in Brazil with great success.”
