Norbert Dentressangle has acquired Fiege Borruso’s logistics operations in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
The take-over of Fiege’s Italian operations, which generated 2012 revenues of around €95 million (£81.5 million), will see Norbert double its size in the country with its logistics operations set to account for a total turnover of €220 million (£188.9 million).
Norbert will now operate a total of 35 sites, offering 630,000 sq m of warehousing area and employing 1,200 people, in Italy.
The additional acquisition of Fiege Iberia and Fiege Iberia Operador’s Spanish and Portuguese operations is set to see the company’s Iberian operations generate a combined turnover of €450 million (£386.8 million).
The combination will see Norbert offer 458,000 sq m of ambient warehousing areas, run a fleet of 1,800 vehicles and employ 1,700 people in total.
