Jigsaw has won a contract renewal and extension with domestic appliances supplier Indesit, which will see it take responsibility for all Indesit’s UK bulk operations, as part of a £15 million deal.
The operations will include movements between Indesit’s factory in Yate and warehouses in Raunds, Northamptonshire, and Sharpness, Gloucestershire, as well as to customers and retailers.
The deal between the two companies, who have been working together since 2007, hopes to support enhanced sustainability across Indesit’s supply chain by reducing costs and wasted vehicle miles. It comes after the company’s recent change in business which resulted in additional supply chain complexity.
“We recognised that the current bulk transport requirement could be managed more efficiently by a specialist transport integrator with an experienced team, market understanding and the resources to provide a scaleable solution that integrated seamlessly with its business, said David Hannam, bulk operations manager at Indesit in the UK.
“Jigsaw was able to demonstrate a value proposition based on collaboration to optimise flows, reduce costs and remove risk. Its ability to reduce complexity and provide Indesit with a single point of contact for all transport processes was another key factor in the decision.”
