TNT Express has accelerated its plans to reorganise its business in Italy in response to the deterioration of the business environment in the country.
About 850 jobs will go in the 3,000 strong workforce and 20 facilities will be affected. It will reorganise its overhead and supporting activities and combine its smaller operations into larger depots at strategic locations throughout the country.
The reorganisation is part of TNT’s Deliver! Programme. The company said the difficult economic circumstances and trading conditions in Italy had forced it to implement significant measures to increase productivity and reduce costs.
