DHL has introduced a new service hoping to facilitate the development, production and launch phases of new vehicles.
The company said the service will see it support the pre-production of model developments, such as specialised packaging of prototypes, during the research and development phase.
While the manufacturing phase will see it organise in-bound material and in-plant logistics, before covering launch communication, including the movement of exhibition cars for test car events or official press presentation, during the launch phase.
“Product launches in the automotive sector are complex and cost-intensive. The feedback we receive from our customers shows that improvement is in strong demand, said Fathi Tlatli, president global sector automotive, DHL Global Customer Solutions & Innovation.
“With our worldwide solution, companies can benefit from minimised supply chain risks, lower third party costs and higher efficiency, all of which can be tracked via a set of visibility tools we provide.”
