Crane Worldwide Logistics has opened a new office at Pemba in Mozambique. Deposits of natural gas have been found in a province called Cabo Delgado, within the waters of the Mozambican Strait, and, with an estimation of as much as 100 trillion cubic feet, Crane believes the country will become a major player in the sector over the next decade.
International organisations in Mozambique are struggling with the logistical challenges, caused by issues such as limited road network, minimal freight services and lack of local production and building materials, it said.
“A solid partnership is paramount in this environment and we are confident that we have the right infrastructure in place and strong expertise on the ground,” said Crane’s regional vice president Europe, Middle East and Africa, Gerard Ryan.
