Dairy company Arla Foods has implemented OmPrompt’s new Claims Validation service, to automate the manual processing of delivery discrepancy documentation.
The service uses logic to dispose of large amounts of unnecessary information, as well as enabling the retailer’s electronic good receipt notes (GRNs) data to be compared to the supplier’s ERP system data.
Arla estimates it makes 4,000 deliveries to stores and distribution centres a day, which it says can create more than 2,500 electronic GRNs per customer, per week.
General manager, logistics support, Ian Singleton, said: “Typically on a Monday, one member of the customer logistics team would spend the day going through just one major retailer’s delivery discrepancies. they would then do the same for our third party customers, and then process the claims received from our other retail customers.”
Arla now hopes OmPrompt’s service will automatically deliver discrepancies, enabling its logistics support team to focus on investigating and defending claims.
