Recycling specialist Willshee’s Skip Hire has won a contract to provide Palletways’ national hub in Lichfield with a dedicated service, which will see 100 per cent of the company’s waste created at the site recycled.
Palletways has invested in new equipment to ensure that all 100 tonnes of wood, paper, cardboard and plastic produced each month on site are re-used, as part of its commitment to promote high standards of environmental management.
The firm hopes these efforts will improve the environmental sustainability of its operations, and eventually help it attain ISO 14001 accreditation for designing and implementing effective environmental management systems.
Palletways aims to put similar arrangements in place in its other UK hubs in the near future.
