Toys “Я” Us has signed a deal with Gazeley for the development of a logistics campus and head office south of Paris.
The 13.5 ha site at Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry will house all logistics activities and services at a 517,000 sq ft (48,000 sqm) distribution centre.
The site will serve as Toys “Я” Us’s national distribution centre and supply its full French store network as well as meeting the growing needs of e-commerce.
It will consist of a large storage area and a cross-dock building and will be equipped with a fully automated conveyor system. The building also includes 3,000 sqm of office space that will serve as the retailer’s head office.
Construction works are due to start in the second quarter of 2014, with a handover scheduled in 2015. Toys “Я” Us was advised by CBRE who were exclusive, retained agents.
