DB Schenker has established a new joint venture with its long-term global network partner Salem Freight International in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi firm has operated for more than 20 years and has a staff of 80. Farook AlZeer will extend his existing responsibilities to managing director of the new entity in addition to acting as managing director of Schenker in Dubai.
“A major part of the world’s future growth will come from markets in Middle East and Africa,” said Peter Glatz, regional director Near Middle East/Africa at Schenker AG.
“This is why we continue to strengthen our presence in the UAE, a strategic central location at the crossroads of important trading routes between East and West. We plan to further strengthen our network in this growing region.”
