Supermarket group Morrisons is using Automic’s automation capabilities to connect disparate systems from legacy mainframes to newly-implemented Oracle Retail systems.
Supermarket group Morrisons manufactures, sorts, grades and packages its own produce, meaning that agile IT is vital within the company, as it is responsible for keeping distinct parts of the supply chain connected.
“The company is in a unique position, in the way it serves its customers by handling all aspects of the supply chain,” said Tony Stephenson, IT operations manager, Morrisons.
“The amount of applications required to operate this successfully, coupled with the testing and rollout of processes, means that automation is a crucial cog in Morrisons’ success.”
The retailer said Automic helps it to ensure the end-to-end visibility of workflows, which in turn allows the IT department to clear the status of the supply chain.
Automic is the new brand identity for UC4.
