French group FM Logistic has signed a deal with the McLane Company to buy its e logistics subsidiary in Brazil.
FM Logistic will operate in Brazil from four sites with more than 1150 employees and turnover of € 47 million in 2012.
“Logistics is a major issue in the Brazilian market. Demand is high, and the ability to provide an effective response is a strategic requirement for the development of the country,” said FM chief executive Jean-Christophe Machet.
FM Logistic do Brasil will be managed by Michèle Cohonner, who previously spent four years as general manager developing the FM Logistic group’s business in Russia.
Last month FM Logistic, which now has sales of €886m, took over Univeg Logistics Russia, which specialises in the movement of fresh products.
