Stephen Metcalfe, MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock, joined Wincanton Records Management to launch a new mobile shredding vehicle, to serve businesses across Essex and the South East.
The new truck will be based at Wincanton’s Essex site and will be sent out to the company’s clients’ business premises to shred confidential documents.
“The new vehicles are not only a welcome investment in both their business and the environment; they also make it easier and more efficient for clients to see their documents shredded on site, thus ensuring even greater data protection,” said Metcalfe.
Jon Fowler, managing director at WRM UK and Ireland, said: “The increases in legislation such as The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, which aims to reduce identity theft, means that businesses are under increased pressure to ensure all confidential information is disposed of in a safe and secure manner.”
