Food supplier Winterbotham Darby has extended its contract with Fowler Welch for three-years to store, pick and despatch bakery products to Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons.
Produced in the Vendée, France, Winterbotham’s stock will be shipped from St. Malo to Portsmouth and stored in Fowler Welch’s south-coast site in Hilsea.
The two companies have been working together since May 2012, in a deal which uses Fowler Welch’s Teynham facility, in Kent.
Ian Render, operations manager at Winterbotham Darby, said: “Like Teynham, the Hilsea service will be intensive and will place high demands on the supply chain, which will take cooperation.”
