Toyota Material Handling UK’s managing director, Mike Mathias, has joined the Consolidated Fork Truck Services board.
CFTS was set up in a collaboration between the British Industrial Truck Association and the Fork Lift Truck Association, to establish the industry’s Thorough Examination procedure and its accreditation scheme.
Mathias, who has almost four decades of experience within the materials handling industry, has held his role at Toyota UK since 2007, and is also chairman of Toyota Material Handling Netherlands and Belgium, as well as director of the company in Poland.
“Over the past couple of years Toyota has been particularly active in raising awareness of the important safety and legal issues surrounding Thorough Examination,” said CFTS chairman, Richard Hayes.
“Its efforts have included contacting truck owners, designing supporting literature and generally taking every opportunity to educate truck users on why CFTS-accredited Thorough Examination is the safe choice.”
