Evans Transport has invested £2.5 million in fuel efficient vehicles, replacing 35 HGVs over the past 12 months, as part of its on-going fleet replacement programme.
The new vehicles, which are a mix of Scania and artics, feature a mix of the company’s own livery, Palletforce’s livery, of which it is a member, and dual livery.
Evans said the main aim of its fleet modernisation is to increase fuel efficiency, as fuel is the company’s biggest single cost.
Depot manager Mike Symons said: “We’re definitely seeing some big improvements as we’re getting at least a mile per gallon more than we did with the older vehicles.”
