The development of e-commerce has forced retailers to amend their range of delivery options, reducing charges and focussing on returns, according to iForce’s latest Delivery Options Research.
The study revealed that the return process of a purchase is becoming crucial, with 51 per cent of those questioned offering a free returns option.
The research goes on to show that Click and Collect is on the rise, with 54 per cent of retailers now offering the service, 73 per cent of which send information about a delivery to their customers by SMS.
“Click and Collect is still continuing to grow at pace, and the new on-demand style of shopping is showing a continued trend in the online shoppers’ week, said iForce’s director of client services, Geoff Taylor.
“It’s all about Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, or after work, for the consumer now, and the e-Retailers are responding in their droves.”
