Farrall Transport has introduced electronic proof of delivery technology to improve communications for its customers and streamline operations within its network.
The new ePOD technology provides customers with a “proof of location” service, pinpointing where their goods have been delivered, as well as the time and signature of the recipient.
The nationwide project will also enable customers to track their delivery at any stage of its journey, which they can access via the company’s new free iPhone app, and for Palletforce customers via Palletforce Pallet Tracking.
“We can now click on a driver’s registration number and find out where he is up to with his day’s work, said Paul Mather, commercial manager at Farrall’s.
“As he completes a delivery and it is signed off electronically it disappears from his run sheet. We can actually see the daily work schedule as it diminishes from the first drop.
“Not only does ePOD make operational life so much easier but it also helps us to reduce paperwork and allows us to invoice on the day.”
