New data from UK online haulage exchange marketplace Returnloads.net has revealed the UK’s most popular routes for haulage back loads, after examining data from its network of hundreds of manufacturer and haulier members.
Hauliers use the website to share the capacity of wasted return journeys, to save fuel, money and carbon, as well as prevent additional HGV journeys.
The January – April 2013 results revealed the country’s most popular pick-up and departure location as Kingston upon Hull, followed by Cardiff and Liverpool.
They also found the UK’s most popular destination locations are Glasgow, Birmingham and Bristol, and the most popular delivery routes are Kingston upon Hull – Birmingham, Cardiff – Sheffied and Lichfield – Dartford, in that order.
