The Co-operative Food’s Logistics Service has awarded non-for-profit plastics company Moorland Plastics a two-year contract, to supply more than 600,000 retention hooks and straps for the supermarket’s roll cages.
The company will now replace worn or missing hooks and straps on more than 210,000 roll cages throughout the Co-operative’s UK-wide distribution network.
Barnsley-based Moorland was funded by the town’s local council and department for work and pensions, and employs around 33 people with various physical and learning disabilities, and provides training and work experience to the long-term unemployed and youth.
