Menzies Distribution is replacing half of its LGV fleet with 110 new Iveco trucks, in a five-year contract hire deal with Ryder.
The new vehicles range from 26 tonnes to 6.5 tonnes, and will be delivered in batches throughout 2013 and 2014. They will all be Euro 5 compliant, having been registered before August 2013.
After consultation with Ryder, Menzies has decided to equip the entire new fleet with telematics system Microlise, to help the company monitor fuel consumption, driver performance and delivery schedules.
The deal also sees 16 vehicles that were previously on long-term rental converted to a four-year contract hire agreement.
