Lluís Gay has been promoted to chief executive officer of Schenker Logistics in Spain, effective of 1st September 2013, after having spent the last six years as head of land transport at DB Schenker Logistics there.
With 28 years of experience in freight forwarding, and 24 years in land transport, Gay has worked in a range of departments, from sales to operations.
He will be replacing Jaume Ballester, who is retiring as CEO, but will continue to hold responsibility as the head of land transport in Europe West until further notice.
“I know Luis will keep DB Schenker Logistics in Spain moving forward with the strong entrepreneurial spirit his professional background has given him. And I am glad that we will continue to have Jaume Ballester’s extensive experience and positive energy supporting our land transport activities in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Morocco,” said Philippe Gilbert, regional director for Europe West at Schenker AG.
* DB Schenker has opened a new office in the capital of the state Kerala, India, which is its 37th office in the country.
Located on the west coast, the facility hopes to provide the company with a service offering in retail, chemical, automotive, electronics, food products, handicraft, manufacturing, and other existing industries in the region.
