Martin Brower UK has taken order for 30 of Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1950 multi-temperature units, and eight of its Supra 950 multi-temperature units, which will be used to deliver ambient, chilled and frozen produce to restaurants nationwide.
The Vector models will operate from three distribution centres, in Heywood, Hemel Hempstead, and Basingstoke, at which they will offer plug-in electric-standby capability when parked.
Carrier Transicold says they offer a four per cent increase in refrigeration capacity, compared with the previous generation Vector 1850, as well as a ten per cent reduction in fuel consumption.
To be mounted onto eight new DAF CF65.250 rigid trucks, the Supra units have been designed for restricted locations, such as narrow city streets and shopping precincts with underground unloading areas.
