Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, which makes cookers and fridges, has renewed its contract with Norbert Dentressangle for three years.
Dentressangle has worked for the manufacturer for thirteen years, handling the UK distribution from an NDC in Stoke-on-Trent to electrical retailers, distributors, wholesalers and suppliers of professional catering equipment.
The operation involves a core fleet of 16 vehicles and 64 trailers that shuttle finished goods from a production site in Prescot to Stoke, provide shunting at both sites, and outbound nationwide transport of over 500,000 products via 9,700 deliveries a year. Dentressangle has introduced new longer length 15.6m semi-trailers for the factory shuttle operation to the Stoke NDC.
Glen Dimplex manufactures 85 per cent of its products in the UK. Its cooker brands include Stoves, Belling, New World. It also makes Lec fridges.
Head of logistics Ian Worsley said: “For over 13-years Norbert Dentressangle has provided a consistently high level of service and has been proactive in developing new solutions to meet changing market conditions.
“The introduction of longer semi-trailers and improved fleet utilisation is typical of this approach, one that has both reduced cost and the carbon footprint of our supply chain, which is vital to maintaining our market leading position and meeting our environmental aims.”
